Drive-in movies are wonderful family fun. It is as American as baseball. There is absolutely nothing like it, especially on a hot summer night!
Drive-in movie features are more friendly on the finances than ultra-modern cinemas. One thing that I love is the fact that they provide double features. Most drive-ins offer double features. It helps lower your expenses and also provides a long night out at the movies. A double feature, in case you need to know, means that you can watch two movies at the show as opposed to one.
You may either watch the movie from the convenience of your automobile, or bring your folding chairs or quilts and sit down outside beneath the stars to enjoy the nighttime entertainment. If you are fortunate enough to live close to an outdoor drive-in movie theater, then you are lucky because they are a dying breed.
The majority of drive-ins these days allow you to tune in to the sound over the radio, so don't forget to bring your portable radio if you sit outside. There's a lot more liberty to have discussion at the show without being watched or just being shushed like at the indoor ones.
For many individuals, taking in a drive-in movie takes them back to their youth. It is a rewarding time for you to relish with your family, date, or best friends.
A lot of people bring in their own snack food items, I know that I do. The concession can often be very expensive, but if you just don't want to worry about carrying your own treats, it is good for the drive-in's bottom line and it can also be a delicious treat. Snacks make the movie fun, however make an attempt to buy them just before the motion picture commences.
Appreciation for the past is what most drive-in movie enthusiasts are hoping to experience. As a young person, going on a date at the theatre meant for steamy windows and not much film watching. With today's high-tech multiplexes, it is sad that the drive-in is certainly going the way of the dinosaurs.
By and large, try to find a neighborhood drive-in if you have never gone to one. It is well worth the effort to take a trip out to the drive-in and revel in a movie, whether it is family or a date. You won't be sorry!
TIP: If you plan to go the drive-in cinema like the old days, then why not try riding in your own muscle car. My favorite is the 1967 Ford Mustang
