Speeding is by far the most dangerous road activity drivers can embark on. People on the roads who speed constantly and a so called 'boy racer' culture have meant that speeding has become a bigger problem over the years. It is a proven fact that the time difference of a journey taken obeying the speed limit compared to one breaking the speed limit is not only safer but it also only means arriving a minute or two later- so there really is no point to speeding.
Often people overtaking can also pose a problem on the roads. People that underestimate the amount of time they have to overtake and then squeeze into small gaps are often responsible for causing accidents.
Other common and annoying habits on the road include not dipping your headlights at the right time- or worse of all not dipping them at all. This can dazzle oncoming drivers and cause accidents.
Using fog lights when the condition on the roads is poor is acceptable but using them when conditions are good is illegal. On average fog lights reach brightness that is ten times more than standard lights.
One consistently annoying habit is tailgating. Driving too close to the car in front of you can result in accidents and intimidation and distraction of other drivers.
It is important to stay disciplines where lanes are concerned. The general rule is that unless you are overtaking you should remain in the left hand lane. Hogging lanes is a bad habit and annoying to other drivers.
Flitting from lane to lane in slow moving traffic is very irritating to other drivers as well as being a pointless exercise in itself. Traffic is annoying but even so it is best to avoid behaviour like this.
Intimidating cyclists and pedestrians is another act that lots of drivers often fall into. When driving a person should show respect for those around them at all times.
If you commit a driving offence you will need to contact an experienced driving offence solicitor.
